Workshop Schedule
Spring 2010

Becoming a part of the WSIA family is easier than it seems. Here are the steps to take to become a member of our team:

1. Fill out and hand in an application. These can be found on the wall near the front desk. The application can be left in the Personnel mailbox or with an available station member.

2. Attend a General Workshop. These are held on various dates throughout the semester. To be a part, simply show up at the station at the designated date and time.

3. Upon attending the General Workshop you will be asked to sign up for a Board/EAS Workshop. The dates and times for these are listed below and are conducted in the on-air studio.

4. When you have read "The Book"( which you will receive at the General Workshop), and understand the contents then come in and take the test. Passage of the test qualifies you as a station member. At this time you will be asked to choose a department in which you will fulfill a two hour a week work requirement. You will also be provided with a station ID and a mailbox. If you do not pass, you may retake the test until you do.

5. Drop by the station and schedule two sit- ins. These are one-on-ones with two different DJ shifts on two separate days where you will become better familiar with the tasks of a DJ. To schedule a sit in please see the Programming Director and/ or the Personnel Director. Bring a notebook and be ready to take notes. Don't be afraid to ask questions.

GENERAL WORKSHOPS

General workshops are the first of two orientation sessions that begins your training at WSIA. You must attend the general workshop before you can attend the BOARD/EAS.

This schedule is effective from February 1st, 2010 to May 15th, 2010. The schedule is subject to change and maybe canceled in the case of an emergencey or station event that conflicts with the schedule. If you have questions regarding your session please call the station to confirm that your session will take place.

Tuesdays
Time Slot A: 11:30 AM - 12:30 PM     [Given by Antoinette Peters]

Time Slot C: 2:00 PM - 3:00 PM         [Given by Antoinette Peters]

Wednesdays
Time Slot D: 12:30 PM - 1:30 PM [Given by TJ McLaughlin]

Thursdays
Time Slot E: 12:30 PM - 1:30 PM [Given by Antoinette Peters]
Time Slot F: 1:30 PM - 3:30 PM [Given by Antoinette Peters]

BOARD/EAS workshops - Spring 2010

This is a combined intensive workshop with an attendance limit of 10 people per session. THIS WORKSHOP IS BY APPOINTMENT ONLY. Appointments for the BOARD workshops will be made at the end of each GENERAL workshop.
You MUST attend the general workshop before the board/EAS and YOU MUST BE ON TIME!!
We will not allow any late-comers under any circumstance.
